ChicBoom Keychain Speaker Review

I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like we are always on the go. One way that I like to spend a few minutes between activities is by listening to music while surfing the web. I was excited when I was given the opportunity to try out chicBoom Keychain Speaker. This adorable leopard print speaker might be small, but the sound is mighty. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of the speaker. The keychain allows you to easily carry the speaker with you. I attached it to my bag so it wouldn’t get lost in the mix of electronics I carry. The built-in rechargeable battery will give you four hours of party time on a full charge. The chicBoom Speaker can blast tunes from any device that uses a 3.5mm stereo jack. I have used it with my iPad and laptop so far.

My daughter fell in love with the speaker as soon as she saw it. The sparkling crystals in the shape of a heart make this a great gift for the girls in your life.

My son is looking forward to ordering one that is designed for the guys – the sparkly heart made it easy for him to say this one could belong to his sister. He wants to get this one:

Zhu Zhu Pet Giveaway

A few months ago I was able to have a Zhu Zhu party locally and give away some of these cute little hamsters thanks to BSM Media. Zhu Zhu Pets are hard to find this holiday season. I have an extra that I am giving away to a lucky reader here at Heathen Homeschoolers.

Weekend in Review ~ Celebs, headaches, contests and more!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. It has been a rainy weekend here, which has matched my mood, lol. I actually had to lay down for awhile yesterday because my head was hurting so bad. I am NOT one to lay down to take a nap during the day, but I fell asleep pretty quick yesterday. Since my head isn’t hurting as bad today, I’m catching up on everything that should have been done this weekend. I still haven’t found a way to get out of doing laundry, lol!

I love to tweet on twitter. If you aren’t already following me, you should, lol! You can follow me by clicking here. Up until a few days ago, I only followed moms I knew, a couple of businesses,etc. I never thought of following celebs on twitter, but now I follow one. I was sucked into the madness of Ashton Kutcher vs CNN. They were in a race to a million followers on twitter. Ok, think about that for a minute…..ONE MILLION followers…holy crap that is a lot of followers reading the tweets of one man, lol! Ashton decided to buy malaria nets if he reached a million before CNN.

Long story short, he did it. He also inspired a bunch of other celebs to donate to the cause. You can support the cause by visiting Malaria No More and making a donation to provide nets to those in need. Each net is only $10 and can save a life. Blog Updates:

Over the next few weeks you will see a variety of changes here at Heathen Homeschoolers. As I’m settling into blogging on a regular basis, I am finding things that I need to change to improve my blog. I am planning new features (like conference info, resource links, etc) that I hope you will enjoy.

I have added a contact me tab. It makes contacting me even easier. I’m going to be adding my twitter and facebook info to that page as well.

Thanks to Melissa over at Real Parenting for Real Kids. I actually won a contest at her blog. I never win anything, so I was excited, lol!

Entrecard Contest – Monday Happy Hour

If you are here for the normal Heathen posts, have no fear….I’m writing one as soon as I post about this contest, lol!

Entrecard is an advertising service for blogs. Seeing my ad on other blogs is how many of my readers have found me. As a thank you to the blog owners who purchase ads on my site, I have decided to have my first ever contest for entrecard credits!

Entering is easy……

1. Buy an entrecard ad here at Heathen Homeschoolers. Which hey, you were going to anyways, so the contest is just an extra goodie, lol!

2. Post a comment on this post to tell me that you have purchased a new ad. Sorry, ads currently in my line up do not get an entry in the contest.

I told you it was going to be easy. LOL

Now for the details:

This contest is going to start as of right now and run until April 16.

There will be two awards of 500 credits each and one award of 1500 credits.

If I have 10 people enter the contest, I will increase the number of awards that will be given.

If I have 15 people enter the contest, I will increase the number of awards that will be given AGAIN!

The winners will be randomly selected on Friday, April 17.

If this contest goes well, I plan to have more for even a higher number of entrecard credits.
