So who is Heathen Mom?

Heathen Mom, aka Andrea, is a homeschooling mother of two who lives in Missouri.  Prior to deciding to homeschool her children she held a variety of positions within public school districts.  The last position she held was as a school counselor with additional duties because one full time job apparently wasn’t enough according to the school board.

The Heathen family began homeschooling when their oldest child began first grade.  What began as a short term solution has became a way of life for the family.  The family homeschools for academic reasons and feels that religion should not be the focus of academic instruction.
