Even Heathen Mom gets a Summer Vacation

I decided to take the month of June off again this year when it comes to my online activities.  It seems like June is just an insane month for my family schedule-wise so deciding to put my online activities on hold for a few weeks made sense. I loved having time with my family and allowing myself time to examine some of the issues I have been dealing with when it comes to local “friends”.  While the break has been nice, I’m happy to be back here at Heathen Homeschoolers.

June is a time for reflection on our past school year as well as a time to look ahead to the next.  Our tracking hours of instruction for the current year ends on June 30.  I will be printing out my son’s total hours log to file away and placing the last few items into his portfolio for the year this week.  During this time I will also be getting things organized for the new school year.  Paperwork….a necessary evil for homeschoolers.  I will be writing a few posts about the planning/paperwork side of homeschooling over the next few weeks.

I look forward to writing about some of our summer adventures and hearing about yours.  If you went to a great place during your summer journeys, email me.  I would love to consider having you write a guest post about places to visit that have an educational spin.

I am putting together a list of upcoming topics to cover here at Heathen Homeschoolers.  Email me if you have any ideas of things you would like to see covered.  I *heart* ideas from fellow Heathen Homeschoolers :)
