Planning a Music Class

I will once again be teaching a music class for elementary students for the fine arts department of our local homeschool group. Last year the focus was on using BoomWhackers and other rhythm instruments. This year the class is going to be a bit different. I will still be using the BoomWhackers because they are really fun to play with, but I will be expanding the class to involve more music elements.
One of the goals of the class is to be able to perform a few simple songs during the fine arts night at the end of the semester. I think that will be a fun way to end the semester and will be a nice showcase for the talents of the children.
Today’s blog post is a call for ideas….leave comments telling me about your favorite music game that will help introduce music (reading notes, tempo, pitch, etc) or your idea for songs to play at the fine arts night. After I plan the semester I will write a post about the games and other activities that I have decided to do with the children.
